The Horizon Collection celebrates the Craft and Art of Whisky
Bathe in the dawn of a new day
The birth of a new beginning.
The light that breaks the coils of night.
A future that unfolds ahead.

The history

Founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh MacAskill of Eigg and Kenneth MacGaskill, the Talisker distillery rises on the remote and rugged shores of the Isle of Skye, surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes. Its name derives from the Old Norse term for the inclined rock, ‘Thalas Gair’.

Talisker whisky harnesses the wild spirit of the seashore: an intense and assertive character, tempered by sweeter notes.

Behind the Bottle

Horizon Sunrise is the third and final limited edition bottling of the Horizon collection. The latest chapter in a story that has actually only just started. Sunrise represents the light of a new beginning illuminating a renewed reality. After all, it is always darkest before dawn.

Talisker, the selected whisky, fully represents this concept. The distillery is known throughout the whisky world, yet it has had countless false starts and abrupt stops during the course of its history. Yet, after the fire in 1960 that almost destroyed everything, Talisker was reborn from its ashes and has become one of the best-loved distilleries. We, therefore, dedicate this bottling to all those who dare to rise again, even when all the odds are against their favour.

Identifying whisky

Tasting notes

Nose
Intense. Smokiness softened by sherry cask finish. Notes of vanilla, caramel, and a particular kick of star anise. Followed by citrus notes of lime and orange, nutmeg, honey, liquorice root. Saline note that mitigates the whole, making it balanced.

Palate
The high percentage of alcohol does not disturb at all, on the contrary, it gives it a great personality. on the palate, notes of yellow peach, sea salt, caramelised sugar, raisins, red apple, citrus marmalade and a touch of (light) peat emerge immediately, with unmistakable notes of pink pepper and spices. After airing the whisky for a while, you immediately perceive notes of cherry, vanilla, and brioche.

Finish
Long finish and engaging. Persistent notes of citrus marmalade, peat, malt, vanilla, marine, citrus, nutmeg, ginger biscuit, honey, slightly spicy.
